Direct Entry (DE) Requirements for Chemical Engineering

Without wasting much time, the direct entry requirements to study Chemical Engineering are:

‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIBEN accept HND (lower credit) and ND (upper credit) plus UTME requirements.

(ii) OAU accepts ND Chemical Engineering (Upper credit) only.

(iii) CARITAS and PHC – No Direct Entry.

(iv) ESUTECH and UNIBEN require ‘A’ level passes in any two of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ESUTECH also accepts NCE/ND/HND/1st Degree with good grades and UTME requirements into 200 or 300 level respectively.

(v) FUTMINNA accepts ND/HND (not below lower credit) in addition to UTME requirement.

(vi) MAUTECH accepts ND (Upper credit) level in Chemical Engineering

(vii) LAUTECH accepts HND (lower credit) or ND (upper credit) passes into 200 level.

(viii) UNIBEN – in addition to UTME requirements requires:
(a) First Degree Second Class Lower in the Sciences or Agric; Degree in Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy and PTI HND (Lower Credit) / ND (Upper Credit).
(b) HND (Upper credit) in Engineering/Technology and PTI (HND (Upper credit) into 300 levels.
(c) ND / HND holders should have ‘A’ grade in Mathematics.

(ix) BAUCHI accepts ND/HND in Chemical Engineering.

(x) UNILAG accepts HND/ND (Distinction) plus UTME requirements.

(xi) IGBINEDION accepts ND in Engineering in related fields.

(xii) UNIMAID accepts National Diploma (Credit) and IJMB (9 points) in related field.

(xiii) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant fields plus UTME requirements.

(xiv) UNIILORIN requires one year post ND/HND experience

(xv) MAUTECH accepts:
(a) GCE `A’ Level and IJMB credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
(b) Upper credit in ND Chemical Eng.

(xvi) LAUTECH accepts:
(a) (i) GCE ‘A’ Level Passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or
(b) ND with Upper Credit/HND in related discipline (plus UTME requirements) may be considered for admission into 200 level.

(xvii) ABU accepts:
(a) ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
(b) ND in Chemical Engineering with a minimum Upper Credit from Accredited Institution
(c) HND in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of Lower Credit from an Accredited Institutions.

(xviii) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant fields plus UTME requirements.

(xix) ABUAD accepts HND (Lower Credit) and ND (upper Credit) ij addition to UTME requirements into 200 level.

(xx) OSUSTECH accepts first degree from a recognized University in the relevant subjects not below Second Class Lower.

(xxi) FUTO requires at least three ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. It also accepts ND/HND at Upper Credit level in Engineering in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE.

(xxii) NTNU accepts any two A’ level passes in Science subjects, ND/HND (lower credit) or NCE (merit) in relevant fields.

(xxiii) UNILAG accepts;
(a) Very good passes in three (3) JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.
(b) HND/ND (Distinction) or A/Level Cambridge.
(c) Candidate must satisfy the O/Level requirement

(xxiv) UNIABUJA accepts HND (lower credit) or ND (Upper Credit) in Chemical Engineering plus UTME requirements into 200 level.
