Direct Entry (DE) Requirements for Biochemistry
Without wasting much time, the direct entry requirements to study Biochemistry are:
Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Biology/Zoology/Botany and Maths.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBADAN requires two A’ level passes from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany plus UTME requirements.
(ii) UNIBEN requires three A’ level passes to include Biology/Zoology, Chemistry and Physics plus UTME requirements.
(iii) LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry; and Physics or Mathematics /ND with Upper Credit /HND in related discipline (plus UTME requirements) may be considered for 200 level.
(iv) UNICAL does not admit Direct Entry.
(v) FUTO requires at least ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Physics and any two of Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. It also accepts ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Bio-medical Technology, Bio-medical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE.
Note that the above direct entry requirements may only apply to Biochemistry under the faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences.
