Direct Entry (DE) Requirements for Sociology and Anthropology
Without wasting much time, the direct entry requirements to study Sociology and Anthropology are:
Three Social Science or Arts Subjects
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNN accepts two A’ level passes in Social Sciences or Arts subjects in addition to UTME requirements.
(ii) UNIBEN requires two ‘A’ level passes including any Social Science subject; ND (Upper Credit)/HND (Lower Credit) in relevant Social Science disciplines such as public Administration, Mass Communication; NCE (overall merit) with credit pass in relevant Social Science subject. Direct Entry candidates must satisfy UTME requirements.
(iii) EBSU accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in relevant fields.
(iv) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND/NCE in relevant fields plus UTME requirements.
(v) OAU O’ level credit passes from English language, Mathematics and any three subjects from Economics, Geography, Government, Biology and Chemistry.
(vi) OAU accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in subjects such as Economics, Geography, Government , History
(vii) NDU accepts:
a. Two ‘A’ level passes in Government, Economics, Religious Knowledge, Geography, and History.
b. National Diploma in related area, provided such diploma is passed at upper credit level.
c. N.C.E. in related area at credit level.
(viii) ESUTECH requires two A’ level passes including Government or History plus UTME requirements. Accepts ND in Social Work/Development and Administration, with at least a merit pass plus UTME requirements
