What is Mechanical Engineering about?

Mechanical engineering is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.

Anyone who wants to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering must be good at physics at physics, chemistry and mathematics. You must also have skills such as an analytical bent of mind, logical reasoning and problem solving.

Where Can One Work With A Degree In Mechanical Engineering?

Mechanical engineers design power-producing machines, such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, as well as power-using machines, such as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Mechanical engineers design other machines inside buildings, such as elevators and escalators.

With a degree in mechanical engineering, one can find job in various government and private sector companies. Mechanical Engineer can opt for various job openings such as:
