JAMB Subject Combination For Mathematics and Economics
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Mathematics and Economics under the Faculty of Sciences in the institutions listed above are:
Mathematics, Economics and any other Science or Social Science subject
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Mathematics and Economics
In order to study Mathematics and Economics in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects selected from Science or Social Sciences at not more than two sittings.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBEN accepts Mathematics, Economics and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Geography and Government
Direct Entry Requirements For Mathematics and Economics
To apply for Mathematics and Economics as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) At least two ‘A’ level passes (G.C.E or H.S.C) at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include Mathematics and Economics.
(ii) ND with at least an Upper Credit level pass in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Accounting or Business Studies from a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(iii) HND with at least a Lower Credit level pass in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Accounting or Business Studies from a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(iv) NCE with at least a Credit level pass in Mathematics and Economics from a recognised College of Education. In addition candidates should have at least an overall-Merit level pass.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
i. UNIBEN -Candidates for Direct Entry should also satisfy UTME requirements.
(ii) MAUTECH requires
(i) HSC/GCE ‘A’ level Credit passes in Economics and in any one of Maths, statistics, Geography and Business Mgt. Also accepts ND in relevant field.
