JAMB Subject Combination For Economics
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Economics under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:
Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Literature-in-English, French and CRK/IRK.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) FUD accepts any Social Science subject as the third subject.
(ii) FULOKOJA requires Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography and Financial Accounting.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Economics
In order to study Economics in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and at least two other relevant courses preferably in Commerce, Government and Accounting subjects
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) FULOKOJA and FUD accept any two Arts or Social Science subjects as the fourth and fifth subjects.
(ii) FUWUKARI accepts credit passes in Geography, Business Methods and Statistics.
Direct Entry Requirements For Economics
To apply for Economics as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: NCE/ National Diploma with Upper Credit in the relevant subjects in addition to five credits at SSCE in not more than two sittings
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) FUD accepts:
a. Two ‘A’ level in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and Government.
b. National Diploma with Credit in the relevant subjects in addition to five Credits including English and Mathematics at SSCE in not more than two sittings.
