JAMB Subject Combination For Education and Science
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Education and Science under the Faculty of Education in the institutions listed above are:
Three relevant Science or NBC subjects
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNN requires English Language and any three (3) Science subjects – Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Health Science, Agric Science.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Education and Science
In order to study Education and Science in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and two other Science subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UI does not accept TC II.
(ii) RSUST accepts a pass in English Language and Mathematics in exceptional cases.
(iii) FUTMINNA requires any three other science subject.
(iv) UNN requires Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and two other Science subjects. one subject must be the proposed teaching subject.
For Integrated Science
Five credit passes which includes a credit in at least one Science subject and pass in two other Science subjects.
(v) UI accepts only N.C.E. in relevant courses and does not accept TCIII.
(vi) NDU requires five O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects, two of which must be science subjects in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry Requirements For Education and Science
To apply for Education and Science as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) Two ‘A’ level passes in relevant Science subjects which should include candidates proposed course.
(ii) NCE credit/merit passes in addition to TC II merit or SSCE credit in relevant subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) RSUST accepts NCE and ND/HND (Science/Mathematics)into year II.
(ii) UNN accepts Candidates with ND in other areas at distinction, credit, or merit level who possess the University minimum entry requirement plus credit in the teaching subject may be considered for Direct Entry admission but will run the 4 year programme.
(iii) NDU – Same as Vocational and Technical Education.
