A lot of candidates or aspirants who want to apply for admission into a University has been asking so may question as to whether some one can register for both JAMB UTME and JAMB Direct Entry Exam for The same year.
Before answering the question on whether One can register JAMB And Direct Entry for the same year, lets clarify some concept on what UTME and Direct Entry is and those who are eligible to apply for it.
UTME means Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and this type of Examination or Programme is for those candidates who just graduated from Secondary School and want to further they education into a University.
UTME Programme if successful can get one admission into 100-Level of the desired university the person applied for after passing the mode of Examination conducted by the Institution.
Direct Entry or DE is a Programme for those who have attended any higher Institution before, Around here, it is mainly for those who have graduated from a College of Education or a Polytechnic and wants to further their Education in a University.
Who Can apply for JAMB Direct Entry Admission? Those applying for admission through Direct Entry may have gotten a Certificate before which may either be an OND or NCE Certificate for Polytechnic and Colleges of Education Respectively.
DE programme if successful can get one admission directly into 200-Level.
Now Lets Answer the question.
SHOULD YOU APPLY FOR BOTH JAMB (UTME) AND DIRECT ENTRY THE SAME TIME?
The Answer is NO, You cant Apply. Candidates who have applied for JAMB through UTME can not apply for Direct Entry again even though the person has a Certificate in Either OND or NCE.
Candidates who may want to consider applying for both JAMB UTME and DE are to note that the details will be duplicated on JAMB System showing that the person have Dual or Double Application which may lead to Disqualification.
From the Sanctions stated earlier by JAMB, the person may not be able to apply for JAMB again for the Next Three (3) Years if caught on such act of having a Dual Registration.
