JAMB Subject Combination For Food Technology
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Food Technology under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are:
Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UI does not accept Biology
(ii) BELLS accepts physics/mathematics.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Food Technology
In order to study Food Technology in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) BELLS requires five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics/ Agricultural Science/ Geography or Economics/ Food and Nutrition. May consider a pass in Physics at O’ level.
(ii) UI accept ND/HND at upper credit level.
(iii) UI accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and
Mathematics plus UTME requirements. Accepts also
ND/HND at upper credit level {65%} accepted to 200/300 Upper levels respectively plus UTME requirements. Knowledge of Further Mathematics is an advantage for all Engineering Courses.
Direct Entry Requirements For Food Technology
To apply for Food Technology as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i)‘A’ level passes in two of Physics Chemistry, and Mathematics.
(ii) ND/HND (upper credit) in relevant fields.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UI accepts ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and Chemistry plus UTME requirements.
(ii) BELLS accepts
(a) Two A’ level passes in Chemistry/Physics/Biology/ Mathematics.
(b) ND/HND/approved IJMB in relevant fields.
(iii) UI accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and
Mathematics plus UTME requirements. Accepts also
ND/HND at upper credit level {65%} accepted to 200/300 Upper levels respectively plus UTME requirements. Knowledge of Further Mathematics is an advantage for all Engineering Courses.
