JAMB Subject Combination For Food Science and Technology
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Food Science and Technology under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are:
Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) FUTO does not accept Biology
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Food Science and Technology
In order to study Food Science and Technology in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) OAU does not accept Biology in lieu of Physics.
(ii) FUTO requires Biology as the fifth (5th) subject.
Direct Entry Requirements For Food Science and Technology
To apply for Food Science and Technology as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i)‘A’ level passes in two of Physics Chemistry, and Mathematics.
(ii) ND/HND (upper credit) in relevant fields.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) OAU accepts ND (Upper credit) in Food Science and Technology
(ii) FUTO requires at least two ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. It also accepts at least Upper Credit ND/HND in relevant fields. Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE.
(iii) OAU accepts ND/HND (upper credit) plus five credits at ‘O’ level.
(iv) UNIMAID accepts a credit pass in Biology.
(v) WUSTO accepts:
(a) At least 2 “A” level passes in Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology, Physics or Home Economics.
(b) Upper Credit passes in NCE and ND in addition to 5 Credits at WASC/GCE O’L /SSCE (or its equivalent)
