This is a notice to the general public informing them about the latest information from the federal government (FG) that December 26th (Monday), December 27th (Tuesday) and January 2nd (Monday) has been declared public holiday to mark the celebration of Christmas day, Boxing day and New Year Celebrations Respectively.
Official Statement Concerning The Public Holiday Break Notice (Dec 26th, 27th 2016 & Jan 2nd 2017)
The public holiday notice and declarations was announced in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, on Wednesday the 21st of December 2016 in Abuja.
In the statement signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, the minister called for peace and unity in the country.
He encouraged all Nigerians in general to remain committed and to be very supportive of the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari in his sustained efforts toward building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
Mr. Dambazau also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and peaceful co-existence across the country.
The Minister wishes all Nigerians at home and abroad, a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year 2017.
