The Federal polytechnic Nekede student Union Government 2015/2016 academic session led by comrade Ike Emmanuel Ugochukwu is no doubt one of the best administration ever since the inception of the unions in his citadel of learning. The achievements experienced in this academic session of the students’ union government are laudable.
The union officials who were inaugurated in November, 2015 have been so committed in assisting the school management in maintaining peace on campus. It is also on record that none of the officials was either impeached or suspended due to nonchalant behavior and this brought about team work amongst them.
The administration helped to a great extent in promoting and maintaining good students’ management relation by pleading with the school management on behalf of the students in their decisions.
As a way of assisting the management in her “Keep Poly Clean” project aimed at ensuring cleanness on campus, the union purchased rolling waste bin baskets.
The major projects embarked upon by the 2015/2016 SUG led by Ike Emmanuel are: purchase of the union officials bus, donation of plastic chairs to the union, division of students affairs and churches on campus , rehabilitation and repair of sucker-way in the school hostel, maintenance of water tapes, washing of tanks in the hostel etc.
The union also as a way of promoting sporting activities on campus hostel SUG cup, Rector cup, Friendly matches etc.
The union through the office of the vice president Comr. Steven Happiness O. in conjunction with the Director of Sports, Comr. Nwafor Franklyn organized the first ever inter female hostel games festival which featured bicycle race, football, suck race amongst others.
The union also organized the most laudable students week through the office of the vice president which was graced by men of timber and calibers within the state amongst them is, the Chief of staff of Imo State Government, Uche Nwosu.
In a bid to enhance the financial status of the union, the union just made a proposal to begin the construction of her resources center on the campus and work is set to commence soonest.
Furthermore, the union has also assisted the school management in ensuring the most peaceful orientation of new students, matriculation, convocation ceremony, Federal Polytechnic carnival, solemn assemblies and other management events and activities within and outside the campus.
Finally, the union ever since her inception is committed in the social welfare of the students and maintenance of absolute tranquility therefore, one must agree that this is the best administration ever.
