JAMB Subject Combination For Education and English Language and Literature
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Education and English Language and Literature under the Faculty of Education in the institutions listed above are:
Literature in English and one Arts and any other subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBEN the third subject could also be Arts or Social Science subject.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Education and English Language and Literature
In order to study Education and English Language and Literature in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language and Literature in English plus three other Arts or Social Science subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBEN requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language and other subjects from Literature-in-English, History, French, Fine Arts, Government and Religious Knowledge.
(ii) GO requires a credit in Mathematics but Literature is not compulsory.
Direct Entry Requirements For Education and English Language and Literature
To apply for Education and English Language and Literature as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) Two ‘A’ level passes in relevant teaching subjects including Literature in English.
(ii) NCE with credit or merit passes in two relevant subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBEN accepts:
Two A/level passes plus UTME requirements / 2 or 3 NCE (merit passes) including English Language plus 3 or 2 ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language and any of Literature-in-English, Religious Knowledge , Fine Arts, French, History or Government at one sitting.
