JAMB Subject Combination For Drama / Dramatic / Performing Arts
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Drama / Dramatic / Performing Arts under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) LASU – require another Arts subject plus any Arts or Social Science subject.
(ii) UNIBEN accepts any two Arts Subjects and another subject.
(iii) OAU requires Literature-in-English plus another Arts subject and any other subject.
(iv) ABU requires Literature in English and other relevant subjects.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Drama / Dramatic / Performing Arts
In order to study Drama / Dramatic / Performing Arts in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language and Arts subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) ABU require 5 ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Literature-in-English and other subjects from Arts or Social Science.
(ii) DELSU require credit pass in Literature-in-English.
(iii) LASU accept five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language and Literature-in-English plus any other Arts/Social Science subjects.
(iv) UNIBEN require Literature-in-English and one Arts subject.
(v) UNIPORT requires English Language, Literature in English and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects
(vi) OAU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Literature-in-English plus one Arts subject and any other two subjects.
(vii) UNIABUJA requires five credit passes in English, Mathematics, Literature in English and any other two subjects
Direct Entry Requirements For Drama / Dramatic / Performing Arts
To apply for Drama / Dramatic / Performing Arts as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts, Social Science or Science subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) OAU, UNIBEN and DELSU require ‘A’ level pass in Literature in English.
(ii) UNIPORT – No Direct Entry.
(iii) DELSU accept NCE (merit) in Music and ND (Upper credit) in Theatre Arts; ‘A’ level passes in two Arts subjects.
(iv) DELSU accept Certificate in Drama, Theater Arts – Mass Comm. and Music. ‘A’ level passes to include English Language, Literature-in-English, plus UTME requirements.
(v) OAU accepts two ‘A’ level passes one of which should be in any Literature papers e.g. Literature-in-English or Yoruba.
(vi) LASU accepts:
(a) NCE (Merit) in Theatre/Performing/Creative or Communication Arts of recognised institutions plus five ‘O’ level Credit passes to include English Language at not more than two sitting.
(b) A recognized Certificate in Dramatic Arts plus at least one other Certificate in the Humanities from a recognized Institution or ‘A’ Level pass in any other subject plus five ‘O’ Level Credit passes either SSCE or GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language.
(vii) UNIABUJA accepts NCE/ND in Theatre Art with at least four ‘O’ level credit passes.
(viii) UNIBEN requires at least two ‘A’ level passes in GCE or HSC or a recognised equivalent in any two Arts subjects. It accepts NCE with an overall Merit level pass in Music from a recognised institution.
(ix) ABU accepts:
(a) Two ‘A’ level papers in English, Performing Arts, Journalism, Mass Communication, Creative Arts, Music and Dance, Literature in English, or any Nigerian Language at IJMB/ NCE.
(b) Candidates with National Diploma must also possess pass in Literature in English.
(c) General English/Use of English at NCE satisfies’ O’ level English requirement.
(x) UNIABUJA accepts: A minimum of 10 points in NCE or Upper Credit in National Diploma in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements OR two A’ Level credit passes including Literature in English and one other Arts subject.
