JAMB Subject Combination For Adult Education / English Literature
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Adult Education / English Literature under the Faculty of Education in the institutions listed above are:
Government/History, one Social Science subject and any other subject.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBEN accept:
a. For Adult Education Professional requires any three subjects chosen from Arts or social sciences.
b. For Adult Education Economics and Statistics requires Economics, Mathematics and one other Art or Social Science subject.
c. For Adult Education English and Literature requires Literature in English, one Art subject and any other subject.
d. For Adult Education Geography and Regional Planning requires Geography, one social Science subject and any other subject.
e. For Adult Education Political Science and Public Administration requires Government or History, one Social Science Subject and any other subject.
O Level (WAEC and NECO) Requirements For Adult Education / English Literature
In order to study Adult Education / English Literature in the University, you will need to pass the following requirements in your O level result which can either be WAEC or NECO or even both:
Five ‘SSCE credits including English and Mathematics or TC II with pass in English and at least 4 other subjects.
Three of Literature in English, History, French, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, CRK, Islamic Studies, Geography/Physics, Economics Government and Mathematics
Direct Entry Requirements For Adult Education / English Literature
To apply for Adult Education / English Literature as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) Two ‘A’ level passes.
(ii) NCE with passes in two subjects at merit level.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNIBEN accepts ‘A’ level subjects in relevant Arts and Social Science subjects plus 3 O/Level passes including English Language at one sitting.
(ii) UNIBEN requires:
(a) 2/3 NCE merit passes plus 3/2 O/Level credit passes including English Language at one sitting.
(b) ND (Upper Credit) in any of the areas listed in (ii) plus 3 ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language at one sitting.
